Judge Eric R. Weisenburger

The Honorable Judge Eric R. Weisenburger was elected in November, 2013 after being appointed to the bench in May by the Governor of the State of Ohio, subsequent to winning the primary race. He was engaged in the private practice of law in Huron County for 23 years in the law firm of Thornton, Harwood and Weisenburger with offices in Norwalk and Willard. Judge Weisenburger also served as City of Willard Assistant Law Director for 23 years as well as Law Director/Assistant Law Director for several other local communities. Judge Weisenburger was married in Norwalk in 1990 and has two adult children. Judge Weisenburger remains active in the local community and is a member of the Single Judge Court Committee of the Association of the Municipal/County Judges of Ohio.

Further, Judge Weisenburger has overseen the Norwalk Municipal Drug Court initial certification by the Ohio Supreme Court in 2017 and re-certifications therefore in 2019, 2022, and 2025. As well, in 2025 the Norwalk Municipal Court earned state wide Cliff Skeen Award, which recognizes excellence in the Court's Intensive Supervision Probation Department. Judge Weisenburger also serves as a mentor for newly elected judges after being appointed to do so by the Ohio Supreme Court.
